The hubby and I moved into our more permanent apartment this weekend, but that wasn’t my biggest accomplishment to date in the UK. It was (ready folks?), learning how to order a burger without mayo and relish (all that is required is saying: “no mayo and no relish, please.”) It was heaven to not have to wipe that awful sauce unto a napkin. On par was learning that this pizza joint (which is conveniently located a mere one hundred steps from our building) isn’t open on Saturdays. Or Sundays. And that Seamless web doesn’t really exist in the UK, or just didn’t exist yesterday, as I was trying to order a pizza. Or any food that was edible, period. I caved and went for half a chocolate bar, some moscato wine, and corn and beef. I also managed to schlep boxes and clothes without breaking anything, eat tacos at a pretty mediocre bar, and dance the night away on a very tacky, albeit very fun, Thames River Cruise.
This morning the hubby departed at the crack of dawn for Israel. And I remained alone, with a neck cramp, thanks to my body no longer being used to our old bed, in grand old Canary Wharf. And tonight, over the phone, I confessed to him that “I can’t function without my husband.” He recorded it, so now there’s proof. Because unlike any normal human being, I couldn’t fathom the thought of cross-fitting, buying groceries, moving more clothes from our old apartment to our new apartment, and picking up my twenty kg kettlebell that arrived in the mail. So, I skipped cross-fit, bought some sushi for dinner, and made a small dent by bringing over some clothes into our new apartment. I also managed to pick up my twenty kg kettlebell, pounding heart and all.
While I attempt to sleep, I’ll leave you the below links, which I hope make you LOL as well as provide some food for thought.
When it’s not right , hits it home with everything I love about Crossfit, and also touches upon one of my main goals for 2012. Keep failing. Fail better.
When I’m not balanced, I don’t function. My eating, sleeping, and exercise habits pretty much go out the window (see: first paragraph). A great take on how being balanced enables passion for anything.
This post about Homeless people in London made me realize that I will love Steph when I meet her on Thursday. We’re going to a burlesque show together at Bete Noire.
Christine has always been one of my favorite bloggers. But her recent experience in China has turned her into one hilarious gal. She writes China a letter here.
And The Everywhereist is absolutely insane, but I love her almost more than my morning chai. This post sums up why her blog was chosen as one of Time’s 2011 best blogs. And the most awesomest thing of all is that Christine loves her too.
On a completely unrelated note, Happy Birthday Mom! I can’t wait to fly you to Morocco on March 19th! And most probably, Prague too! I love you.

Aw, cheers for the links. So excited for tomorrow!
And happy belated birthday, Carolina’s mom :)
