Happiness is…

Saturday, September 15th, 2012

Happiness is hearing my Dad give a beautiful speech at my brother’s wedding.

Happiness is seeing my writing published on the CrossFit Community Site.

Happiness is having unstructured days where I can stop and marvel at nature.

Happiness is reading The Road Less Traveled, a book my mother gave me, when I was going through a very rough time.

Happiness is antibiotics after going through a bout of food poisoning.

Happiness is my husband asleep next to me as I write.

7 Things I’d like to Share

Friday, April 13th, 2012

Tammy recently published a fun post, titled 7 Things I’d like to Share . I followed Tammy’s lead and wrote something similar. I have a lot to share, but each update doesn’t merit a full blog post. But these updates together make a great list of things I’ve been meaning to share with y’all.

1. I created a video of my trip to Morocco with my mom

And now I’m obsessed, so I’ll be creating more videos of anything I can get my hands on! Copy me and become a Treasure House of Happy Memories.

2. We’re off to Budapest and Venice in May, so that knocks another two countries off our list to visit every European Country while we’re in England

Thus Far in 2012: Spain, Germany, Austria, Poland

Pending Countries for 2012: Hungary, Italy, Belgium, Portugal, France, Czech Republic and TBD

Happiness Project Debrief: Postcard Project

Thursday, February 9th, 2012

In early January, I began my own  Happiness Project. I learned and adjusted many behaviors throughout [more on this later], but my postcard project was the most fun, as I showered my family and friends with love.

I started planning for this project in December by buying some London Cavallini & Co Postcards.  Throughout January, I committed to writing out a daily postcard to communicate my love. Given that I’m not physically close to my family and friends, this project made me take time out of my day to verbalize my feelings and to show it through a mindful postcard.

Some of my favorite responses that I received were;

Dad: Good morning, Sweet Carolina, I brought your lovely Postcard to the office today to read from time to time. Your card is SO SWEET! Mom and I loved it! [And if you're wondering, yes, my heart partially melted when I read this email from my wonderful father]

Michaela: Caro, thank you for the lovely card, soo sweet of you!! I have it with myself as a reminder to carry on:) Arrived to Belgium yesterday. Very different to New York. New Life. But am ready to make the most out of it. Today the first day at work, went very well….[To start, I love her. :o) To finish, she's a beautiful rockstar who will do extremely well in Belgium]
